Young American set to fight for the 2022 F1600 Championship title

SASKATOON, SK (March 15, 2021) – Exclusive Autosport is pleased to announce the return of America’s Joey Brienza II to the team for his sophomore season in the 2022 Formula Race Promotions F1600 Championship. In the 2021 FRP season, the 17-year-old showed great progression throughout the year en route to finishing third in the overall championship while racking up four wins, two poles, and 13 podiums in the process. Brienza is set to drive the Exclusive Autosport’s #92 Spectrum chassis and is focused on winning more races and capping the year off with the overall championship in his pursuit of advancement up the open-wheel ladder.

“I am very excited to announce that I am returning to Exclusive Autosport in the FRP F1600 Championship in 2022,” said Brienza. “We had a great year together in 2021 and will continue to build on that to ensure we have a fantastic season. I’m excited to drive for Michael Duncalfe and Exclusive Autosport this year, as well as everyone else involved with the team. I would like to thank God, my Mom, Dad, brother, and sister for all of their support and for always pushing me to be the best I can be. I look forward to the 2022 F1600 campaign with Exclusive Autosport, and now it’s time to go bring home some hardware and win the championship!”

“I’m pleased to have Joey running another year with Exclusive Autosport in the 2022 FRP F1600 season,” enthused Michael Duncalfe, Team Principal. “Joey did a fantastic job last year making the transition from karts to open-wheel cars and capitalized on each moment on track to learn, making progress each time he was behind the wheel. He worked hard for the multiple podium finishes and four wins and I fully expect to see Joey challenging up front and on the podium more in 2022. I am looking forward to getting the season underway and working with Joey as he sets his sights on the FRP championship and pursues his goals in open-wheel racing.”

The first race of the F1600 Championship season is set for April 1-3 at Carolina Motorsports Park, and the Exclusive Autosport team is primed and ready following its off-season program.
